Oral history interview with Eva Goldberg, June 17, 1986.

Goldberg describes her family, the Charlets, and Jewish life in Centralia, Washington. She tells of marrying Alan Goldberg, son of Jacob Goldberg, and moving to Olympia, Washington. She then discusses Goldberg family history, tracing the family from North Dakota to Washington. The Goldbergs owned three furniture stores in Washington: in Aberdeen, Everett, and Olympia. She talks about the Jewish community in Olympia, acquiring kosher meats, the Olympia synagogue, and children's Jewish education. Goldberg discusses the Depression years and the antisemitic activities of the Silver Shirts, who had an encampment near Olympia. She talks about Jewish participation at Fort Lewis and Evergreen College. She also describes family life at the Goldberg home on Hood Canal.
